ok So my girls where watching the tc channel Treehouse the other day. On came this show called In the Night Garden. It looked good so I sat and watched for a few minutes. Oh my, I have to just shake my head! These were some kind of alien/child things in bright colours who can't talk they make this weird garble sound and that is supposed to be talking? Where did the shows that taught you words and numbers go?
Why is everything in "Baby Talk" now? Teletubbies where the same.. they would speak in baby talk and not really teach kids anything!
It's seems like it's the tv shows that are teaching our children, and not the parents. I just think that if you are going to allow your children to watch tv.. then it should be educational ones. I used to think that Treehouse was a really good channel for my girls to watch... now I'm not so sure.

First Day of School!
So my oldest daughter , who is 7, started School yesterday! She's now in grade 2! She also started a new school, as we moved during the summer.
We got up at 6 am and she got dressed, ate breakfast and did her morning maitenance.
She takes the bus, except we took her to school yesterday, as is our tradition for the first day of school. She was so nervous but then found a friend that she had made over the summer and all was well again! She took the bus home from school yesterday and her sister and i were waiting for her at the end of our driveway. Everything was so normal. She had no issues at all! It's not that i was expecting issues, but rather everything was so new to her i was afraid that the stress might be to much. She had never been to a new school before, never taken a school bus... heck! never been in grade 2 before!
BUT! she handled it well! and I'm so proud of her!
SO this morning she got up on her own! did her morning routine and was eager to ride the bus to school! We stood out waiting for the bus and she was so excited when it finally came into view! I gave her a hug and watched her climb the bus steps and sit down.
My baby girl is growing up! it was wonderful and heartbreaking to watch her climb the bus and drive off. I'm glad she's so confident with herself that she has no problems like this.
Way to Go Bug! Mommy is so Proud of you!
